February 20-21 2010	Asian New Year This year, the World Kite Museum features the kites and cultures of Malaysia and Singapore. Uniquely shaped & decorated kites and other folk arts will be on display. Visitors can try a variety of Malaysian arts and games. Videos and demonstrations are part of both days’ events.

Saturdays in March 2010	Spring Break Family Kite Fun World Kite Museum hosts their annual Spring Fling Events for kids and families
March 2010	Whale Watching On The Coast Gray whales annually pass by the Peninsula twice each year, once on their migration from the Arctic to their wintering and breeding grounds in Southern California and Mexico and on the return trip from the southern climes.
March 19-21 2010	Peninsula Quilt Guild Show Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum will have over 100 quilts on display, submitted by guild members. Founded in 1996, the Peninsula Quilt Guild has 55 members. Free admission.
March 26-28 2010	Annual Long Beach Bluegrass Festival Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, Misty Mama, The McMahon’s, Deadwood Revival and others. Open Mic Friday 3:00 pm. Shows 6 pm to 9:45 pm. Saturday 9:30 am: Workshops. 11:30-1:30: Band Scramble with winner playing at 6 pm. Saturday shows 2 pm- 9:45 Dinner break: 4:45. Sunday 2 free gospel shows starting at 10 am.

April 3 2010	Spring Break Family Kite Fun World Kite Museum hosts their annual Spring Fling Events for kids and families.
April 9-11 2010	Peninsula Arts Association 18th Annual Spring Show PAA’s spring show present the work of over 60 local artists as well as unique shopping experiences for inspired creations. Raffle proceeds benefit a high school scholarship.
April 17 2010	Beach Cleanup Day! The Grass Roots Garbage Gang organizes a beach clean up for the 28 miles of beach on the Long Beach Peninsula. Hundreds of locals & visitors come out to clean the beach. Anyone interested in helping out is welcome to join any of the three events. Free chowder included!
April TBA 2010	Tall Ships in Ilwaco! Join us for a Nautical Renaissance! Tall Ships. Dockside Tours. Adventure Sails, and a Sailor's Feast on the 24th at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum. Fun for all ages.
April 24 2010	Black Lake Fishing Derby Kids only derby; ages 0-14. Free pancake breakfast 7AM; fishing starts at 10:30. Pre-register online, at Ilwaco City Hall or at Derby. Refreshments & hot dogs for lunch. Children must be accompanied by adult. Some fishing poles may be available (first come, first served). Prizes awarded by age group & aggregate weight.

May 1-2 2010	60th Annual Loyalty Day Celebration Long Beach boasts the longest consecutively running Loyalty Day celebration in the nation. Events are scheduled over two-day period, including Children’s Parade, annual Blessing of the Fleet, Fire Truck rides, and Loyalty Day Parade. 2010 salutes the Coast Guard, established by Grand Marshall President George Washington in 1790.
May 1 2010	Loyalty Day Children's Parade The Loyalty Day Children’s Parade is held annually the first Saturday in May. The parade begins at noon; line-up/registration begins around 11:00 AM. All children are welcome to participate. Adults can cheer them on as well as enjoy the first Saturday Market of the season.
May 1 2010	Blessing of the Fleet Gaily decorated parade of boats to mouth of Columbia River for blessing. Memorial wreath dropped by Coast Guard helicopter. Free boat rides to site, departing at 1:00 pm.
May 2 2010	Loyalty Day Parade This parade boasts more than one hundred entries from around the country each year and lasts more than two fun-filled hours. Pacific Hwy in Downtown Long Beach.
May 15 2010	10th Annual Surf Perch Derby Pre-reg. $25 /$30 on day, w/breakfast. 6-9AM check in before fishing req’d. Raffle, door prizes. 7 AM breakfast: pancakes, ham, eggs. Extra meals $7. Prizes for total weight caught for singles/3 person teams. Weigh in 1-3 PM.
May 28-31 2010	World's Longest Garage Sale 28-miles of garage sales! Grab a copy of the Chinook Observer, or just follow the signs. There are so many sales, you can practically walk from one to the next, up and down the Peninsula.

June 12 2010	33rd Annual Beach to Chowder 10K Run & 5K Walk/Run AND Half Marathon! 33rd annual Beach to Chowder Run. Participants choose Half Marathon on Discovery Trail through ocean dunes, 5k walk/run or 10k run with ocean waves breaking nearby. All races Saturday morning; actual starting time TBD. Eight age divisions, many prizes; clam chowder served at awards ceremony.
June 12 2010	Southwest Washington Anglers' Sturgeon Derby BAt Chinook Marina. Winners receive cash, Lamiglas Rods & Kuma Reels. Last year, 50 kids went home w/trout, rod & reels. Dinner included. Space limited to 600. Competitors get competition T-shirt, if entered by cut off date.
June 26 2010 TENTATIVE	4th Annual Doggie Olympic Games Fun for dogs of all ages, sizes, shapes and abilities. Show off your pup’s skills by competing in 'Dunking for Dogs,’ ‘The Peanut Butter Lick,’ Shedding Contest and more. Some contests involve the participation of the handler. Register at the event. For their safety, puppies under 4 months not permitted at the event.

June 26 2010	Music in the Gardens Tours of a variety of gardens within the beautiful setting of the Long Beach Peninsula. Garden styles may include formal, cottage, vegetable, herb & vintage. Some gardens will feature live performances and recorded music by Water Musical Festival performers.

Teams of 8-15 gather with camping gear to participate in the fund raising run/walk. Funds raised aid in research, education, advocacy and patient services. Fees apply only to teams. July 3 2010	Fireworks at the Port Feel the Thunder! Join locals at the Port of Ilwaco for fireworks at dusk. Seating for the fireworks over the marina at the Port of Ilwaco is on the lawn in front of the harbor, next to port restaurants and shops.
July 4 2010	Ocean Park's Old Fashioned 4th of July Parade A fun family event! An old fashioned 4th of July parade with thousands of onlookers. Children are welcome to ride bicycles & adults may build a float & join in.
July 4 2010	Independence Day Fireworks on the Beach The annual fireworks show takes place in front of the Long Beach boardwalk and beach over the ocean. With thousands of vacationers enjoying personal fireworks along 28-miles of public beach, the displays go on for hours before and after the official show, creating an evening of lights sparkling off the water.

July 17-18 2010	Clamshell RailRoad Days The 7th Annual Clamshell Railroad Days celebrates the history of the IR&N Railroad-the only railroad that ran with the tides-that ran on the Long Beach Peninsula from 1889-1930. Co-sponsored with the Peninsula Model Railroad Club, it includes model railroad layouts from regional clubs, historical presentations, vendors and a bus tour.
July 23-25 2010	FinnFest: Finnish American Folk Festival A 3-day event with authentic Scandinavian costumes musicians, cultural & historical presentations, the Paavo Nurmi Run/Walk, boot toss, wife carry, food & craft demonstrations, photographic displays, art & flower displays, kantele & genealogy workshops, May Pole & Scandinavian dancers, dance lessons, dancing until midnight, worship service, pulla & coffee, squeaky cheese, rieska!
July 24-25 2010	65th Annual NPRA Sanctioned Rodeo Bareback riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Calf Roping, Barrel Racing, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Stick Horse Race. Main events both days. Saturday is family night. Cowboy Breakfast Saturday & Sunday at the Saddle Club Clubhouse, featuring hot cakes, eggs and ham or sausage gravy & biscuits for $5.50.

July 31 2010	Oregon Tuna Classic Several tournaments happen along the Oregon/Washington coast with teams of 4 anglers competing to bring in the 5 biggest tuna in aggregate weight. The resulting catch is donated to the area’s food banks. Prizes are offered for the top three teams.
July 31 2010	Jake the Alligator Man's 3rd Annual 75th Birthday Party Jake's party for the grown-ups! Car show & Rockabilly bands and an evening of grown-up fun with sideshow performers, burlesque dancers & live music. Commemorative T-shirts are available.

August 16-22 2010	30th Annual Washington State Int'l Kite Festival Voted ‘Best Kite Festival in the World’ by Kite Trade Association International, the week includes competitions by both professional and amateur kite flyers, choreographed kite flies, mass ascensions, fireworks, lighted night kite flies and a variety of vendors.

September 10 2010	Slow Drag at the Port Hot Rods line up on Howerton Way at the port of Ilwaco to compete in a coasting competition. Cars have approximately 15 feet in which to accelerate and then coast for 200 yards. To win, a car must cross the finish line and stop closest to the line. Trophies and assorted gift certificates awarded.
September 11-12 2010	Rod Run to the End of the World This annual classic car show features thousands of automobiles, from Model As to the muscle cars of the 60s and 70s. The main events are held at Wilson Field in Ocean Park, but the cars will be seen all over the peninsula. No alcohol or pets at event.

October 8 through Nov 14 2010	Wild Mushroom Celebration The Long Beach Peninsula is home to a variety of delectable wild mushrooms. In the fall of the year, local restaurateurs and Bed and Breakfast owners delight their patrons and guests with a number of special events celebrating the harvest of local wild mushrooms.
October 8-11 2010	Peninsula Arts Association Fall Show The 40th Annual PAA Fall Show will be showing over 60 local artists and will have their unique works available for viewing and purchasing. There will also be a raffle held with the proceeds benefiting a local high school scholarship.
October 9-10 2010	One Sky, One World Kite Celebration The World Kite Museum joins people all over the globe to promote international friendship and peace. Participants can bring homemade kites or purchased ones; those who wish can make a kite at event headquarters Through the ‘skype’ program, the audience will watch kites flying in Singapore, Columbia, Minnesota and more.
October 9-10 2010	89th Annual Cranberrian Fair From cranberries to oysters, this area has long been heralded for its harvest. The Cranberry Festival includes local foods and traditions of local history with craft demonstrations, vendors, the Cranberry Trolley and more.
October 15-17 2010	Water Music Festival XXVI A series of Chamber Music Performances featuring top-rated professional musicians playing Baroque, light Classical music and jazz. The festival consists of 5 concerts on October 15-17th. and includes a free concert on Saturday Oct. 16th.
October 24 2010	Graveyard of the Pacific Shipwreck Events Columbia Pacific shipwreck heritage is commemorated annually with special events and exhibits. Participants include4 the Columbia River Maritime Museum, Fort Stevens State Park, Cape Disappointment State Park and Fort Columbia St Park.

October 8 through Nov 14 2010	Wild Mushroom Celebration Participating restaurants, inns and bed and breakfast establishments offer daily wild mushroom specials. Wild mushroom workshops, field excursions and prix-fixe dinners are also offered.
November 5-7 2010	Cribbage Tournament Cribbage tournament sanctioned by the American Cribbage Congress (ACC). Starting Fri. night with doubles & singles play. Saturday is the 22 game main tournament. (Play- offs on Sunday). Saturday night 9 game tour. Sunday is a 9-game tour with playoffs.
November 12-13 2010	'Ocian in View' Cultural Weekend When Lewis & Clark and the Corps of Discovery joyfully exclaimed ‘Ocian in View’, they knew they had reached their westward overland destination. Speakers, bus tours, walking tours, a Chinook tribe seafood dinner and book signings fill this weekend with stories of this historic region.

Saturday brings lots of magic with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The weekend wraps up with Frosty the Snowman’s Birthday Party on Sunday.

December 11 2010	A Tuba Christmas The Astoria Tuba Quartet performs the sounds of the holiday season in an afternoon concert.
December 11-12 2010	Holiday Home Tours Participating Bed & Breakfasts offer tours and opportunity to feed the hungry by bringing canned goods in to trade. Many will also have freshly baked gingerbread houses on display. A donation of a non-perishable food item is requested to be left with each Bed & Breakfast visited.
December 12 2010	Holiday Home Tours Fifth annual Christmas Home Tour to benefit the Boys and Girls Club. Each home is uniquely decorated and filled with tasty food, music and the spirit of Christmas.
December 31 2010	Fireworks At Midnight over the Ocean 10 minutes of fireworks over the Pacific Ocean in front of the boardwalk in Long Beach.
