Wonderful beaches only 10 minutes from the motel
The Port of Ilwaco welcomes back Grays Harbor Historical Seaport tall ships. The
Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain sail into port May 14-19, 2008, offering
public dockside tours and 3 hour adventure sails. Join in the Special Sailor’s
Feast, with musical entertainment, at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum, on
Thursday, May 15th, 5:30 PM. Tickets $20 each; stay tuned for ticket locations.
These beautiful ships return to port June 6-8, 2008, offering public dockside
tours and 3 hour adventure sails. Free educational booths on June 7th only.
Additional nautical related events are being planned.
The tall ships Lynx and Bounty sail into port June 13-17, 2008. The Bounty is
the replica used in the 1962 movie “Mutiny on the Bounty” staring Marlon Brando
and Trevor Howard. The King’s Navy, re-enactors of British Sailors during the
era of H.M.S. Bounty, will be on board, including the ship’s Captain, 1st Mate,
surgeon, carpenter and tinsmith, bringing displays and demonstrations from 10 -
4 on June 7th and 14th, along with musical entertainment.
